For many, the most important aspect of Blackboard is the Grade Centre. This is where you record students’ marks, calculate grades, monitor student progress, offer feedback to your students and generate individual student reports.
Learning all the features of Grade Center is practically a course in itself. We will cover the first steps and basic aspects just to get you started. As you gain familiiarity with this tool, you will be able to add more features and controls.
Access the Grade Center in the Control Panel. When you select Grade Center, you will see a short menu:
► Needs Grading
► Full Grade Center
Access to all Grade Center features. Below this are “Assignments” and “Tests” – these are two “Smart Views.” You can customize and add your own to select exactly what you would like to display.
Opening the Full Grade Center will take you to the following screen:
Grade Center columns are added automatically whenever you create a test or an assignment in your course. However, you can also add columns manually if you wish to grade assignments outside of blackboard but still include the assignment mark in your weighted totals and/or make the grade easily visible to students.
